Growing up in Yorkshire, Alex moved to London in 2015 to pursue his lifelong ambition of being a musician. During his 4 years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Alex studied under the tuition of internationally renown players; Gareth Lockrane (Quincy Jones, Marcus Miller), Christian Forshaw (LSO) and Jim Knight (Kylie Minogue, Michael Buble), cultivating a unique voice on his instrument that blends funk and hip hop styles with jazz idioms.
Currently Alex performs and plays a key role in a wide variety of artistic and commercial projects; from his eclectic 3-piece brass trio NEW CAR SMELL to Entertainment Nation’s highly demanded wedding band, Foxland. Examples of his arranging and production can also be found in his DJ/Sax Duo, Sax & The City, along with his commercial horn section, the JMNI Horns.
